May 8, 2013 | Softball 2013 SOFTBALL SEASON IN REVIEW BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Softball team wrapped up its 2013 campaign with an overall record of 14-26, doubling its win total from a year ago. Under first-year head coach Rob Spofford, the Saints improved in every single offensive category including an increase in team average by 75 percentage points, 99 additional hits, 80 more runs scored as well as 80 more RBI. The Saints swiped a program record 97 stolen bases to lead the Great Northeast Athletic Conference while ranking second in New England and 11th overall in the national among Division III programs averaging 2.43 steals per game. May 6, 2013 SAINTS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT HOSTS ANNUAL AWARDS NIGHT The Emmanuel College Athletic Department hosted its Annual Awards Night and Dessert Reception last weekend, celebrating the Saints success during the 2012-2013 athletic seasons. Student-athletes, coaches, supportive families and fans filled the gymnasium of Emmanuel's Jean Yawkey Center on Saturday evening, April 27th, for the annual athletic recognition night. The event featured award presentations by the head coaches of each of Emmanuel's varsity programs and spirit teams, as well as major award presentations by Saints staff and administrators. April 30, 2013 | Men's Lacrosse HEFFERNAN & ROGERS NAMED TO ALL-GNAC MEN’S LACROSSE TEAMS BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman defensemen Pat Heffernan (Pembroke, Mass.) has been selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse First Team All-Conference squad while freshman midfielder Michael Rogers (New Haven, Conn.) has been selected to the Second Team, it was announced by the conference office on Monday. Heffernan was the only freshman selected on the first team while Rogers was the only freshman named to the second team. May 1, 2013 | Men's Volleyball 2013 MEN’S VOLLEYBALL SEASON IN REVIEW BOSTON, Mass. – For the fifth time in six years, the Emmanuel College men’s volleyball team advanced to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship game to culminate another successful campaign in which the Saints posted an 18-14 overall record including a 12-2 mark in GNAC play. Ultimately, EC fell to Rivier University in the GNAC title match, 3-1, but with just one senior on the roster, the Saints will continue to be a force in the conference and Northeast region for years to come. April 28, 2013 | Outdoor Track TRACK TEAMS WRAP REGULAR SEASON AT REGIS PRIDE INVITATIONAL WESTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Teams competed in their final meet of the 2013 regular season on Sunday afternoon. The Saints traveled to Weston, Mass. for the Regis College Pride Invitational. Three new Emmanuel school records were set and the Saints posted three new championship qualifying times and four improvements on prior qualifiers.
