BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College sophomore outside hitter Erik English (Simi Valley, Calif.) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Third Team squad, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. He was the only Saint to earn All-Conference honors during the 2017 campaign. Junior Paul Bleau (Auburn, Mass.) was the Emmanuel representative on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.

English enjoyed a standout season leading Emmanuel in several offensive categories including kills (241), kills per set (2.77), total attacks (697), digs (184), digs per set (2.12), aces (49) and total points (301.5). He was the only player in the GNAC to average over 2.0 kills and 2.0 digs per set and finished the regular season ranked fourth in the league in total aces.

The sophomore was Emmanuel's go-to offensive threat, collecting 10 or more kills during nine matches and also registered six matches with 10 or more digs.

During his two years at EC, English has accumulated 491 kills, 386 digs, 86 aces, 44 total blocks and 42 assists.

The Saints wrapped up the 2017 season with an 8-21 overall mark including a 4-10 record in GNAC play to earn the No. 6 seed. Emmanuel fell in the GNAC Quarterfinals to No. 3 Rivier University and will look to return its entire roster for the 2018 season.
