John Carroll was named the third head coach of Emmanuel's men's lacrosse program in team history in July 2026, joining the Saints staff in preparation for his first season in Spring 2027. Along with his responsibilities as head men's lacrosse coach, Carroll will also serve as the Recruiting Coordinator for the department.
Most recently, Carroll was the head men’s lacrosse coach for nearby Curry College for the last four seasons and has served as the Vice President of the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) for nearly a full year.
In four seasons with Curry, Carroll has coached seven NEILA East/West All-Stars and helped develop two Conference of New England (CNE) All-Conference players in 2025. His teams have also earned academic recognition during his tenure as Curry’s coach, as the Colonels received the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Academic Team Award in 2024, recognizing excellence in academics and lacrosse.
Carroll has over a dozen years of coaching experience in the collegiate ranks, with assistant coach positions at College of the Holy Cross, Sacred Heart, and Trinity, spanning from 2013-2019.
In July 2019, Carroll then moved to a head coaching position, serving as the head coach for Nichols until 2022.
Along the way, Carroll has worked numerous secondary positions, including Recruiting Coordinator during his time at Trinity, and most recently as a Contest Management Coordinator with Curry.
A native of Long Island, Carroll played four seasons with the University of Albany, graduating in 2012 with a degree in History, concentrated in United States History, and a minor in Journalism. He later obtained a master’s degree from Trinity in American Studies in 2017.
