NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Albertus Magnus College won its 9th-straight game on Thursday night, topping Emmanuel College, 75-62, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball action. The win for the Falcons boosted them to 16-4 on the season and 12-1 in the GNAC. Albertus Magnus sits in first place in the conference standings. The Saints fell to 4-16 overall and 3-10 in the league heading into the final three weeks of the season.

The Falcons held a 44-33 lead at halftime and held onto to the lead throughout the second half. Albertus featured a balanced attack with four scorers in double figures including sophomore forward Ray Askew (Hamden, Conn), who recorded game-highs in points (16) and rebounds (18). Freshman center Jefferson Lora (Bronx, N.Y.) chipped in 11 points, five rebounds, and five blocks for the victors.

Emmanuel was led by freshman guard and this week's GNAC Rookie of the Week Xavier Everson (Rochester, N.Y.). Everson poured in 13 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and gathered 5 steals. Freshman Patrick Ramsey (Easthampton, Mass.) went 5 for 5 from the floor to add 11 points for the Saints. Sophomore Isaiah Duke (Albany, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 points, while classmate Nate Jackson (Middleboro, Mass.) hauled in a team-high 10 rebounds in the effort.

The Falcons will look to continue their winning streak on Saturday in Boston, taking on Emerson in a 2:00 pm tip-off. Emmanuel will host Suffolk University on Saturday in a cross-town rivalry beginning at 1pm.
