Emmanuel moved to 6-9 while the Lasers fell to 6-8.
Junior Jenna Ross (Centerbug, Ohio) helped the Saints off to an early 3-2 edge with an ace that clipped the backline. With Emmanuel leading 11-4, freshman Sara Biondo (Coventry, R.I.) tallied an ace for the visitors and the two teams continued trading points until the Saints had increased their lead to 17-9. The Lasers pulled to within four to make the score 22-18, but the Saints found the momentum they needed to finish the set, earning a 25-19 win.
The Saints continued their strong play into the second set, taking a 10-6 lead early on and eventually extending it to 21-12. Emmanuel only needed a few for more points for a second set victory and found them through strong attacking up front by Ross and sophomore Samantha Andazola (Queen Creek, Ariz.) to help the Saints win the frame, 25-14.
Junior Rebecca Stanton (Quincy, Mass.) got the third set off to a strong start for the Saints, grabbing a big block at the net to give Emmanuel a 4-0 advantage. Junior Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) kept the score close for Lasell with strong work while on serve, but the Saints rebounded to take an 18-12 advantage. That would be all they would need for the match, as Emmanuel emerged with a 25-16 third set win.
