Waltham, Mass. - The Emmanuel College women's volleyball squad
split its two matches during day two of the Brandeis University
Invitational notching a 3-1 victory over Bates while dropping a 3-0
decision to Wellesley. During day one play of the Invitational, the
Saints dropped both contests, falling 3-1 to Tufts before dropping
a 3-0 match to Babson. Following the weekends matches the team
record stands at 3-6 on the season.
Over the four matches the Saints saw senior middle hitter Rebecca
Stanton (Quincy, Mass.) dominate the middle of the court,
combining to slam down 56 kills while hitting .430 from the floor
while also recording 10 total blocks. Senior outside hitter Jenna
Ross (Centerburg, Ohio) was also extremely productive,
recording 39 total kills and notching a .305 hitting percentage
while also chipping in with 50 digs over the four matches. Freshman
setter Alison
Donnelly (Longmeadow, Mass.) continued her solid play running
the Emmanuel offensive unit, dishing out a total of 87 assists to
average 6.21 helpers pet set. Junior libero Yun-Ting
Lee(Cambridge, Mass.) starred defensive for the Saints, getting
down for 67 total digs which averaged out to 4.79 digs per set.
The Saints will be back in action on Tuesday, September 13 when
they play host to Wentworth Institute of Technology in an 8:00 p.m.
match in the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium.
