Boston, Mass. - Sophomore midfielder Lindsey Garvey (Warwick, R.I.) netted two goals while senior defender Logan Carr (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) added a goal and two assists to power the Emmanuel College women's soccer team over Nichols College, 3-0, Tuesday evening at Clemente Field. With the victory, the Saints remain unbeaten and improve to 3-0 on the year while the loss drops the Bison to 0-2.

Garvey gave the Saints an early 1-0 lead with her first goal of the match at the 5:32 mark of the opening half when she put away a cross from Carr coming directly off of a corner kick. The combo would hook up again early in the second stanza to increase the lead to 2-0 when Carr drove a free kick from 25-yards out into the Nichols box before Garvey was able to poke home her second goal of the game, beating junior goalkeeper Maureen Lynch (Holbrook, Mass.) at 51:07 into the contest.

Carr would cap the night's scoring with an insurance goal during the 62nd minute of action, converting a penalty kick opportunity that was a result of a Bison handball in the box.

Nichols would have its best scoring opportunity of the game with 10 minutes remaining when senior midfielder Chelsea Shaughnessy (Halifax, Mass.) was able to head a cross by junior goalkeeper Jessica D'Ottavio (Pawling, N.Y.) but the ball ricocheted off the right post before being cleared away by the Saints defensive front.

D'Ottavio notched her first shutout of the campaign making nine saves in net while Lynch ended the evening with 10 saves.

The Saints return to action on Saturday, September 10 when they head to Nashua, N.H. to take on Rivier College in a GNAC matchup at 1:00 p.m. while Nichols hosts UMass Dartmouth on Thursday, September 8 at 4:00 p.m.
