Women's Soccer Wraps Regular Season With 11-Goal Outing at NEC

HENNIKER, N.H. – Emmanuel women's soccer finished off their regular season with a trip to New England College, taking home an 11-1 victory over the Pilgrims on Tuesday afternoon on Don Melander Field in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

The victory moves the Saints to 15-2-1 (12-2-1 GNAC) and locks down the No. 2 seed for the GNAC Postseason. New England drops down to 1-15-1 (1-12-1 GNAC) in their season finale.

The Saints were ahead 2-0 in the opening 10 minutes with junior Sarah Dullaghan scoring both goals, giving Emmanuel the early lead. The junior forward would go on to finish off a natural hat trick, scoring in the 30th minute to give the Saints a 3-0 lead.

Emmanuel scored twice more in the first half, with graduate Hailey Goodman converting a penalty kick in the 33rd minute and Dullaghan scoring her fourth of the match in the 34th minute, leading to a 5-0 halftime edge.

For the second time in five matches, Dullaghan would finish the match with six goals as tallies in the 57th and 62nd minutes would give her a half-dozen on the day and a 7-0 lead.

The Pilgrims would break up the clean sheet in the 63rd minute with Madison Bowman scoring her first of the season as NEC now trailed 7-1.

Goals by first-years Cameryn Hickey and Audrey Toce, sophomore Maddie McCulloch, and junior Liz McCormick would wrap up the scoring in the Saints 11-1 win. For Hickey and Toce, their tallies in the 69th and 80th minutes, respectively, were their first career collegiate goals.

Dullaghan's six-goal afternoon gives her an NCAA Division III leading 38 tallies this season. Entering play today, Dullaghan led Division III in goals, points, shots, and goals per game.

McCormick and Goodman both finished with one goal and two assists on the day as the duo of forwards become only the second and third players in team history to record a single season of at least 10 goals and 10 assists. McCormick adds another accolade by becoming the second player in program history with 20 assists in a single campaign.

With GNAC regular season finale going on throughout the evening, the Saints opponent for the GNAC Quarterfinals has yet to be determined. Emmanuel will host that match on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 3:30 p.m. against the winner of a Play-In Round Game between the No. 7 seed and the No. 10 seed.
