Box Score BOSTON - In their first match on Andy Yosinoff Court of the 2024 season, Saints Women's Volleyball produced a sweep (25-20, 25-13, 25-23) of Massachusetts Maritime in non-conference action on Tuesday night. The Saints used a 16-kill third set to secure the victory and improve to 3-2 on the season while the visiting Buccaneers dropped to 1-2.
A hot start from the hosts put Emmanuel in control early in the first set. With junior
Isabella Marquez serving, the Saints rattled off the first seven points of the match. The Buccaneers fought back, posting a four and a five point scoring run to level the match at 16. Shortly after, a kill from
Hailey Rumlow gave the visitors their first lead of the night at 18-17. A service error from Mass. Maritime allowed the Saints to tie the set again at 19. Emmanuel went on to win six of the final seven points, and an ace from first-year
Payton Stupavsky secured a 25-20 first set win.
The Saints jumped out to yet another large lead early in the second set, building a 9-2 advantage in a run that included three consecutive aces from Marquez. The Buccaneers were unable to come any closer than six for the remainder of the set, falling 25-13 to give the home side a 2-0 match lead.

Letitia Bossou to put the Saints ahead by three, Massachusetts Maritime rattled off a quick 3-0 run midway through the third set to knot it at 13. The two sides continued to trade points, but a kill from sophomore

Jasmine Maradiaga put the Saints back in the lead by three. Looking to extend the match, the Buccaneers level the set at 22, but the Saints prevailed to win 25-23 and earn a sweep on their home court.
Bossou led the Saints attack, finishing with eight kills followed by Marquez with six. Huynh fed the hitters with 17 assists while contributing seven digs. Bossou and fellow first-year
Frances Ramos Rodriguez combined for seven block assists, stifling the Buccaneers attack.
Alanys Torres added five kills, Shayla Narodawg tallied 14 assists, and Audrey Manning posted 11 digs for Massachusetts Maritime in the loss.
Up next, the Buccaneers pay a visit to the University of Southern Maine for a tri-match with the Huskies and Trinity (Conn.) on Saturday (9/14), beginning at 12:00 P.M. The Saints return to Yosinoff Court tomorrow (9/11) night for a non-conference tilt with Fisher College at 7:00 PM.
