Men's Basketball Rallies Past Roger Williams, 90-80, on the Road

Bristol, RI – Emmanuel College Men's Basketball (2-1) overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Roger Williams (0-3) 90-80 on Saturday afternoon at the Campus Recreation Center in Bristol, R.I. After trailing 42-35 at halftime, the Saints exploded for 55 second-half points, shooting 63.3% from the field over the final 20 minutes to secure their third consecutive victory.

Junior guard, Noah Beaudet led all scorers with 25 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting, including 6-of-8 from beyond the arc. The sharpshooter added six rebounds and two steals while providing the offensive spark Emmanuel needed to complete the comeback.

The turning point  for the Saints came midway through the second half when freshman captain Manny Duran stole the ball and put home a fastbreak layup that brought Emmanuel within one-point with 9:10 remaining in regulation. From there, the Saints seized control, taking their first lead moments later on a 3-pointer by Jack Assani and never looking back. The Saints improved their field goal percentage from 44.8% in the first half to 63.3% in the second and converted 13-of-17 free throws in the second half (76.5%). Emmanuel's transition game proved decisive, outscoring the Hawks 27-19 in fast break points. The Saints' ability to push the pace in the second half disrupted Roger Williams' rhythm and led to numerous easy baskets.

Emmanuel's bench outscored Roger Williams' reserves 52-26, with three Saints reaching double figures off the bench. Mahari Guerrier poured in 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting while adding seven rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes. Hansy Jacques contributed 16 points on an impressive 6-of-8 shooting, while freshman and Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Week, Danny Adams, chipped in 12 points and five assists.

Despite the loss, Finn Miller led Roger Williams with 18 points and nine rebounds, consistently attacking the basket and drawing fouls. Ryan Hammarlund added 14 points and five rebounds, while Owen Boudria provided a spark off the bench with 13 points.

The Hawks shot well from the charity stripe (68.0%) but couldn't match Emmanuel's second-half intensity. Roger Williams also struggled with turnovers, committing 12 miscues that Emmanuel converted into 15 points.

Emmanuel's next test will be on Wednesday, November 19, when they return home to host University of Southern Maine at 5:30 p.m. on Andy Yosinoff Court, while Roger Williams searches for its first victory of the season when it hosts Curry in it's first conference contest on Wednesday.
