Women's Soccer's 2025 Season Concludes with Second-Straight NCAA Appearance

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women's soccer team saw their season come to an end on Saturday morning, falling 3-0 to host No.8 MIT at Roberts Field in Round 1 of NCAA Tournament play. The Saints concluded their campaign with a 15-4-3 record, while the Engineers improved to 21-2-1 and advanced to the next round of tournament play.

MIT struck early and often in the opening half, building an insurmountable 3-0 lead in just 17 minutes. Natalie Barnouw led the offensive charge for the Engineers, scoring twice in the game's first seven minutes. Barnouw opened the scoring just 41 seconds into the match and doubled the advantage at the 6:22 mark with an assist from Madeline Seebeck. JoJo Miller extended MIT's lead to 3-0 in the 17th minute, finishing off a corner kick sequence with an assist from Leena Mehendale.

Despite the early deficit, Emmanuel battled throughout the contest. The Saints managed just one shot in the opening period but came out with renewed energy in the second half, outshooting MIT 10-3 after the break. Liz McCormick led Emmanuel's offensive efforts with five shots, while Loliana Morales added two shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Teigan Robie kept Emmanuel competitive in the second half, making five saves on the day, including three after halftime to prevent MIT from extending their lead.

The loss marks the end of a successful season for Emmanuel, who finished with 15 wins, back-to-back Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.

Senior forward Sarah Dullaghan made Emmanuel and NCAA Division III history this season, becoming the 26th women's soccer player in NCAA DIII history to score 100 career goals. Dullaghan finished her 2025 campaign with 21 goals and 9 assists for 51 points, while senior defender and team captain Annebel Balogh de Galantha earned GNAC All-Conference First-Team and GNAC Defender of the Year for her impressive 2025 season.
