NEW LONDON, N.H. – Outscoring their opponents 40-17 in the second and third quarters combined, Emmanuel women's basketball took down the Colby-Sawyer Chargers, 64-47, on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play from the David L. Coffin Field House.
Saturday's win moves the Saints to 12-11 (7-5 GNAC) as the race for a top-six spot in the GNAC standings continues. The Chargers drop to 9-15 (3-9 GNAC) and are a game back of the final playoff spot with two games to go.
Colby-Sawyer led by two after the opening 10 minutes before the Saints run through the middle quarters helped the visitors take control.
The Saints flipped the advantage to a two-point lead with 4:36 remaining before finishing the half with an 11-4 run. Senior
Desiree Robinson scored six of the 11 points in the run, helping Emmanuel lead by as many as 12, before settling with a 34-25 advantage at the half.
Emmanuel came out from the break with another surge, scoring the first 10 points of the second half in a span of 4:26, boosting their lead to 44-25. The Saints led by as many as 23 in the second half, closing out a road win 64-47 on Saturday afternoon.
Robinson finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, shooting 7-for-16 over 25 minutes. Senior
Paris Atuahene added 14 points and a career-high nine steals

Makenna Grillone finished with a team-high 13 points in 23 minutes. Sophomore
Catherine Chick added 10 points while first-year
Lauren MacDonald chipped in with six points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
The Saints continue their playoff push with a Tuesday, Feb. 18, game at New England College at 5:00 p.m. The Chargers look to keep their postseason hopes alive with a game at Regis on Feb. 18 at 5:00 p.m.
