BOSTON – After falling behind early, Emmanuel women's lacrosse nearly pulled off a comeback win, but ultimately fell short in their 13-10 loss to the Bridgewater State Bears in non-conference action on Clemente Field.
The Bears move to 8-1 with the victory, continuing an impressive start to the 2025 season. The Saints drop to 3-5 as they have lost their last two.
Bridgewater State came out firing early and often in the first quarter, outscoring the Saints 6-2 in the opening 15 minutes. Senior
Camryn Gonsalves had a first quarter hat trick for the Bears while assisting on one of their goals. Saints senior

Madeline Wright found the net for the Saints in the first quarter, as the home side trailed by four.
The Bears were on the verge of a run away, leading by as many as six in the second quarter. The final tally of the frame belonged to Brown, as her goal with 2:03 remaining put the Saints down 9-4 at the half.
Despite a 3-3 third quarter by the Saints and Bears, the final charge by Emmanuel came over the last 15 minutes in their effort for a comeback win.
Brown and Wright combined for goals 2:14 apart at the start of the quarter, cutting the deficit to 12-9. Senior
Rachel Canedy was next on the scoresheet, finding the back of the net with 7:43 to go, leaving the Saints down 12-10.
Over the next four minutes, the Saints continued to apply pressure, but Bears first-year goalie
Sara Skaff stood strong, keeping the Bears advantage at two. Graduate attack
Savannah Herrington added further insurance with 3:43 remaining, as Bridgewater State held off the late charge in their 13-10 win.
Gonsalves finished the day with six goals and three assists for a nine-point day. Herrington and senior
Erin McIntyre both finished with hat tricks while McIntyre led all players with nine draw controls. Skaff made eight saves for the Bears as she improved to 7-1 with the win.
Brown scored three goals to go along with three assists for a career-high six points. Wright also added a hat trick in the loss. Senior goalie
Isabella Thomas made 10 saves for the Saints, but ultimately drops to 3-5 in the loss.
The Saints return to action on Wednesday, March 26, as they travel to Colby-Sawyer for a 4:00 p.m. conference bout. The Bears head to Worcester State for their conference opener on Saturday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m.
