NEWTON, Mass. – In their third game in five days, Emmanuel women's lacrosse needed a five-goal fourth quarter to start their conference schedule with a win, claiming a 13-11 victory over the Lasell Lasers on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play from Grellier Field.
The Saints returned home from Florida less than 48 hours before Saturday's win as the team improves to 2-1 (1-0 GNAC) this season. The Lasers suffer their first loss of the year and fall to 2-1 (0-1 GNAC).

Ella Marschitz scored 22 seconds apart gave Emmanuel a 10-9 lead.
The Lasers would respond with two goals in a 2:56 stretch by
Annarita Sanfilippo and
Emily Watson while a Saints goal by first-year
Emilia Ferraro led Saturday's conference clash to an 11-11 tie.
The next seven minutes remained scoreless, as the Saints and Lasers looked for every opportunity to break the deadlock. Ferraro would break through, scoring the eventual game-winning tally on a free-position opportunity as the Saints reclaimed the lead. Fellow first-year
Anna Nichols would add an insurance goal with 2:13 remaining, leading to the Saints 13-11 win.
Emmanuel started quickly, outscoring the Lasers 5-3 in the opening 15 minutes, but Lasell would push back over the next two frames, outscoring the Saints 6-3 in the middle quarters to lead 9-8 through three quarters.
Ferraro scored a career-high four goals from six shots. Wright added a hat trick for a third consecutive game to go along with one assist for a four-point day. Marschitz scored two goals while becoming the 17
th player in Emmanuel women's lacrosse program history to reach the 100-point plateau.

Kaitlin Bedell scored a game-high five goals to go along with five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Junior

The Saints return to play on Tuesday, March 11, for their home opener against Plymouth State at 7:00 p.m. The Lasers take a week off before hosting Dean on Sunday, March 16, at 1:00 p.m.
