BOSTON, Mass. – Following a one-run win in game one, the Emmanuel Saints softball program exploded for 11 runs in game two, helping them sweep Friday's doubleheader against the Regis Pride in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.
Game One:

With just three hits, the Saints looked to break through in the top of the fourth, but a ground ball double play turned by Abby Erickson stopped their momentum.

Bianca Burke recorded the first hit for the Pride in the bottom of the fourth. A sac bunt moved her into scoring position, but the Saints' defense held strong.

Regis found its spark in the sixth with an RBI single from Lynsey Kay to put the Pride on the board.

Emmanuel answered in the bottom half of the inning as Taylor Chelak doubled with two outs to bring in Christyna Winstead, tying the game 1-1.

A solo home run over the right-center fence by Marks to lead off the seventh gave Emmanuel the final edge, resulting in a 2-1 win for the Saints.
Game Two:

The Saints struck early with an RBI single from Mia Fernandes, then added four more runs in the opening inning to jump ahead 5-0.

Emmanuel extended its lead with four more runs in the fifth, making it 9-0.

Lexi Nichols sparked the Pride with a double to bring in a run and cut the deficit to seven, extending the game.

The Saints responded with two more runs in the sixth, closing out the game with an 11-2 final in six innings.

Regis is set to travel to face Mitchell College on Wednesday, April 15, at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. at Alumni Field. The Saints face New England College on Sunday, April 13, starting at noon.
