BOSTON – Emmanuel men's lacrosse returned to the win column on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Johnson & Wales Wildcats, 14-7, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play at Clemente Field.
The Saints move to 9-6 (8-1 GNAC) and have won nine of their last 10 matches. The Wildcats sit at 7-7 (3-4 GNAC) following Saturday's loss.
Emmanuel opened the game with the first four goals of the afternoon, scored in a 4:28 stretch. First-year
Braxton Bragg scored a pair in helping the Saints to a 4-0 lead. The Saints would outscore the Wildcats 5-1 in the opening 15 minutes, giving the home side a four-goal edge.
After outscoring JWU 3-2 in the second quarter, leading to an 8-3 halftime lead for the Saints, the Wildcats made a push by outscoring the Saints 3-1 in the third. JWU's

Jacob Tresser adding a tally, cutting the deficit to 9-6 after three quarters.
The Saints and Wildcats traded goals to start the fourth, but with the combination of lockdown defense and another quarter of outscoring Johnson & Wales 5-1, the Saints grabbed a 14-7 win on Saturday afternoon.
Saints sophomore
Cooper Mehlhorn finished with a game-high eight points thanks to a day of three goals and five assists. Bragg finished the afternoon with four goals to go with a ground ball and a caused turnover.
The Saints wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, April 23, hosting Lasell at Clemente Field for a 7:00 p.m. faceoff.
