Box Score FITCHBURG, Mass. – Emmanuel women's volleyball continues it's best start in 20 years with a win while completing a straight sets sweep (25-13, 25-15, 26-24) at Fitchburg State.
The Saints 8-1 record is its best start since 2004, when the program started 11-1. The Falcons (0-8) are still looking for their first win in 2025.
After a bit of back-and-forth, the Saints broke open the first frame on an 11-4 run to close out the opening set 25-13. Emmanuel got off to a hot start in the second set with a 10-4 spurt and finished even stronger outscoring the Falcons 9-2. Fitchburg made a six-point run in the third set to tie things up at 15, and the teams battled it out until the end. Addy Fry sealed the deal for Emmanuel and completed the sweep.
Hong paced the Saints with 7 kills, 11 digs and 3 aces.
Isabella Marquez tallied 4 kills,
Sofia Petrucci had 11 digs, and
Scheala Nielsen added 3 aces. Fry tied a career-high 12 assists.
The Saints return home for a tri-match on Saturday, September 20, facing Albertus Magnus College at 11:00 a.m. and Lesley University at 3:00 p.m.
