STANDISH, Maine – The Emmanuel College men's basketball team struggled to find offensive rhythm in an 81-54 loss to St. Joseph's College of Maine on Monday night at the Harold Alfond Center in Standish.
The Saints (7-9,1-3 GNAC) were limited to 31.6% shooting.while the Monks (8-8, 4-0 GNAC) shot 48.5%. St. Joseph's jumped out to a 40-27 halftime lead and maintained control throughout the second half, extending their advantage to as many as 27 points in the final minutes.
Senior forward Mahari Guerrier led Emmanuel with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, adding nine rebounds. Cameron Snowden contributed eight points and seven rebounds, while Hansy Jacques provided nine points off the bench in 18 minutes.
Emmanuel struggled from beyond the arc, converting just 4-of-22 three-point attempts (18.2%). St. Joseph's capitalized on Emmanuel's 16 turnovers, converting them into 18 points while dominating the paint 36-26.
The Monks' Remijo Wani led all scorers with 28 points on an efficient 12-of-17 shooting while grabbing 15 rebounds for a double-double. St. Joseph's also received solid contributions from Davis Mann (15 points) and Wani Donato (13 points, 6 assists).
