Saints Sweep Bard, 3-0
Boston - Men's volleyball wasted no time avenging their loss last night, as they used a clean 3-0 sweep of Bard College on Saturday morning to get their second victory of the young season, and their first on their home floor. With the exception of a tight second set, the Saints (2-5) were in control throughout as they started the tri-match off with a win over the Raptors (1-3).
The early 11:00 AM first serve did not have the Saints lacking any energy, as they quickly jumped out to a 5-1 lead after service ace from sophomore
Nathan Sierra-Suan. Another 4-0 run later in the set gave Emmanuel their largest lead at 22-15, this was highlighted by a loud kill from sophomore middle blocker
Eric Barcelos. The match final was 25-18, a comfortable win for the Saints.
The second set is where the Raptors threw their biggest punch, as after facing a 9-5 deficit early on, they fought back to knot it up at 17. The match stayed even at 25, until the Saints were able to capitalize on the Bard mistakes. A pair of errors from the Raptors gave Emmanuel a 28-26 set victory, and a commanding 2-0 match lead.
The third set featured a back-and-forth affair, as after an attack error by Barcelos, the Raptors held a 15-14 advantage over the home team. Emmanuel sensed the match getting close and didn't blink at all as they rattled off eight of the next nine points, including five kills from first year
Brendan McGinley. Holding a 22-16 lead, Emmanuel was able to cruise to the finish line, polishing off a 3-0 sweep of the Raptors.
Trey Guest and McGinley paced the team with a combined 24 kills, with 14 and 10 coming from each respectively. Sophomore setter
Loden Broe and Freshman
Tye Barrett led the way with 18 assists.

Collin Martin capped off a 10-5 start from the home team. The lead would never dip below five the rest of the set, with the Saints grabbing the third set with ease, by a score of 25-17.
