BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College men's basketball used a blistering first-half shooting performance to pull away from New England College, cruising to a 101-83 victory Wednesday evening at Jean Yawkey Center. The Saints set a program record 18 three-pointers made in a single game, besting the previous record of 17 set in the January 26, 2023 win over Rivier.
The Saints (8-10, 2-3 Great Northeast) knocked down 13-of-20 three-pointers in the opening half, building a commanding 57-34 halftime advantage that proved insurmountable for the visiting Pilgrims (6-11, 1-5 Great Northeast).
Danny Adams paced Emmanuel with a game-high 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting, including five triples, while adding six assists to orchestrate the Saints' offense. Cameron Snowden contributed 17 points on an efficient 5-of-6 from the floor, pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Mahari Guerrier also scored 17 points with five boards.
The Saints' balanced attack featured five players in double figures, with Noah Beaudet adding 14 points, connecting on four shots from beyond the arc, and Connor Hanavan 5-of-6 from the field, including a season-high three triples.
Emmanuel shot 51.6% from the field for the game and an impressive 54.5% from three-point range, knocking down 18-of-33 attempts from distance. The Saints dominated the perimeter in the first half, shooting 65% from beyond the arc to build their 23-point halftime cushion.
New England College fought back in the second half, outscoring Emmanuel 49-44 after intermission, but couldn't threaten the Saints' lead. Mike Strazzeri led the Pilgrims with 21 points, while Josh Robie added 17 points in the losing effort.
Emmanuel capitalized on 22 fast break points compared to just nine for the Pilgrims, and matched New England's 33 bench points despite the Pilgrims' deeper rotation.
