Box Score Boston, Mass. – Women's soccer celebrated their 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship ring ceremony with a dominant 9-1 victory over the Colby-Sawyer Chargers on Saturday. The win lifts the Saints to a 5-3-2 overall record and a 5-0-2 record in the GNAC. The Chargers drop to 3-5-2 overall (1-3-2 GNAC).
The Saints quickly got to work, scoring two goals in the first 10 minutes of the match. Senior midfielder,
Paige Letourneau, pressured the Chargers defense from the opening kickoff and was the first Saint on the scoresheet, notching her seventh goal of the season in the sixth minute. Less than a minute later, Letourneau threatened again, before she passed the ball to sophomore midfielder,
Carla Andreu Panighi, who scored her fourth goal of the season to make it 2-0 in favor of the Saints.
Emmanuel did not stop there as the senior captain,
Ciara Horan, scored her first goal of the season in the 13
th minute, and first-year midfielder,
Kylie Warner, scored her first collegiate goal in the 24
th minute to give the Saints 4-0 lead. Colby-Sawyer did take advantage of a corner kick late in the first half after Sofia Blanco scored on a header that put the Chargers on the board entering halftime.
That, however, would be the only goal the Chargers would get, and it was just the beginning for the Saints. Emmanuel scored another five goals in the second half of play. In the 49
th minute, sophomore forward,
Abby Chambers, scored her third goal of the season. Then, Letourneau and Andreu Panighi scored back-to-back goals for the second time in the game in the 63
rd and 64
th minutes to make it 7-1. A few minutes later in the 67
th minute, sophomore midfielder,
Kayla Silveira, scored her third goal of the season, and in the 87
th minute, junior forward
Audrey Toce, scored her second goal of the season to cap off the Saints' 9-1 victory.
The win brings the Saints closer to the top of the GNAC standings and their next match could put them at the top of the table as they face the Rivier Raiders. Kickoff for that match will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, in Nashua, N.H.
