Emmanuel Rallies From 13 Down to Edge Regis, 67-65

WESTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College men's basketball overcame a 13-point first-half deficit to defeat Regis College 67-65 on Tuesday night at Higgins Court, improving to 9-11 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

Trailing 37-24 at halftime, the Saints stormed back in the second half behind a dominant performance from Mahari Guerrier. The junior guard scored all 20 of his points after intermission, shooting 8-for-12 from the field while adding nine rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.

Emmanuel's decisive run came midway through the second half. After Regis extended its lead to 52-43 at the 14:54 mark, the Saints responded with a 14-5 surge to tie the game at 57-57 with 5:31 remaining. Guerrier's three-pointer at 5:31, assisted by Noah Beaudet, knotted the score and energized the comeback.

The game featured 10 ties and three lead changes, with neither team leading by more than two points over the final 3:21. Guerrier's layup with 20 seconds remaining proved to be the game-winner, giving Emmanuel a 67-65 advantage.

Danny Adams provided crucial support with 15 of his 19 points coming in the final 20 minutes. The guard knocked down three second-half three-pointers and finished 6-for-10 from the field overall.

Cameron Snowden provided a perfect start for the Saints, scoring all 13 of his points in the first half on 6-for-6 shooting. 

Ryan Rangel came off the bench to drill a crucial three-pointer in the second half, finishing with three points in 13 minutes. The Saints' reserves combined for just five points, but their energy proved vital during Emmanuel's rally.

Emmanuel shot 43.9 percent from the field compared to Regis's 38.7 percent. The Saints dominated the second half, shooting 51.7% and outscoring the Pride 43-28 after intermission. Emmanuel held a 34-32 advantage in points in the paint and converted 12 points off 12 Regis turnovers.

The Saints struggled from beyond the arc in the first half (1-for-10) but found their range after intermission (5-for-11) to finish 6-for-21 on three-pointers. Emmanuel also committed just eight turnovers compared to 12 for Regis.

Despite being outrebounded 43-29, Emmanuel's efficient shooting and timely scoring runs proved decisive. The Saints held Regis to just 30.8% shooting in the second half, including 1-for-9 from three-point range.
