BOSTON - Returning to play for their first game since THE Spring Games at the beginning of March, Emmanuel softball suffered a 12-3, run-rule loss against the Emerson Lions on Thursday night from Rotch Field. The Saints go to 1-10 on the season, while the Lions move to 2-7 in the win.
The Emerson bottom of the fourth led the Lions to the run-rule win, posting a nine-run fourth. The home side led 5-1 going into the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded and one out, a pair of RBI singles and a dropped fly ball helped the Lions score three runs, boosting their lead to 8-1. A series of errors by the Saints helped Emerson add another trio of runs, giving them an 11-1Â edge. An RBI groundout and a two-run double capped off the nine-run inning, as the Lions left the fourth ahead 14-1.
Emmanuel's final runs of the night came with two runners in scoring position and sophomore
Grace Garon knocking a two-run double to center field, as a flyout in the Saints next at-bat, ended the game in Emerson's favor, 14-3.

Sydney Taylor had the three Saints hits with Garon going 1-for-2 and Fernandes and Taylor finishing 1-for-3.Â
The Saints head into conference play on Saturday, March 21, traveling to Elms for a doubleheader of games, starting at 2:00 p.m.
