Saints Softball Drop Games to Bluffton, RPI on Monday at THE Spring Games

CLERMONT, Fla. – Emmanuel women's softball was back at Hancock Park on Monday, seeking out their first win of the 2026 schedule as part of THE Spring Games. The Saints allowed a late lead to slip in game one against Bluffton, before suffering a run-rule loss in game two against RPI.

GAME ONE: Bluffton 16 – Emmanuel 10
Another high-scoring affair at THE Spring Games for the Saints entered the top of the seventh with Emmanuel leading 10-7. The Beavers sent a dozen batters to the plate in the inning, as they tied the game thanks to an error, followed by a two-run triple, two batters later.

Now tied 10-10, the Beavers run continued with another Saints error resulting in Bluffton taking an 11-10 lead. That advantage grew with the next batter, a single into left field, scoring two Beavers to give them a 13-10 edge.
After a walk put two runners on, a three-run home run to left field capped off a nine-run rally by the Beavers, as Bluffton used four hits and three Saints errors to take a 16-10 lead.

Emmanuel seemed in control throughout the game, scoring five runs in the bottom of the second and four runs in the fourth, taking a 9-4 lead in the process. Among the scoring plays for the Saints, sophomore Grace Garon hit her first career collegiate home run, a grand slam to left-center, in the fourth.

Garon finished 2-for-4 with a home run and a double, continuing her strong start to the season. Junior Francesca Pizzarella added a 3-for-3 game, including a triple, two RBI, and one run scored. Saints first-year Camren Crockett made the start in game one, pitching 6.1 innings, but was given a no-decision.

GAME TWO: RPI 17 – Emmanuel 3 (Final / 5 Innings)
Coming off dropping game one to Bluffton, the Saints fell in game two via a run-rule loss, thanks in part to the RPI Engineers scoring 12 runs in the third.

The Saints trailed 2-0 in the top of the second before sophomore Samantha Serio provided the Saints only hit of the afternoon. With the bases loaded, Serio knocked a shot to center field for a bases-clearing double and a 3-2 lead.

RPI responded in the bottom of the second with a three-run homer to center field, taking a 5-3 lead in the process.

The next time up for the Engineers in the bottom of the third, RPI posted 12 runs while sending 15 different batters to the plate. Included in the run were two different three-RBI hits, which left the Engineers ahead 17-3.
