Saints Drop 15-7 Decision to Clark in Weeknight Road Clash

WORCESTER, Mass. - Emmanuel men's lacrosse dropped a 15–7 decision to Clark University on Tuesday night at Granger Field. The Cougars scored seven unanswered goals to open the game and the Saints couldn't recover, falling to 5–5 on the season and 5–1 in conference play.

Clark controlled possession from the opening faceoff — winning seven of the first quarter's face-offs — and converted their early chances with authority. A goal by Austin Overmeyer, assisted by Nikko Kelly, provided Emmanuel's lone response before the end of the first quarter to trim the deficit to 7–1.

Emmanuel showed resilience in the second quarter, scoring evenly with Clark, 3–3. Ethan Madura buried an unassisted goal to get the Saints on the board at 9–2, and Chase Greenlaw finished off a feed from Madura just 27 seconds later to make it 9–3. Madura capped the quarter with a second score off a Brandon Shuman assist, pulling the deficit back to six at halftime, 10–4.

The third quarter saw both teams trade goals evenly, 2–2. Nikko Kelly struck unassisted early in the period, followed by a Chase Greenlaw goal assisted by Kellen Connor to bring the score to 10–6 and give the Saints some momentum. Clark answered with back-to-back goals from Thomas Michaud and Tate Gorman to push the lead back to six heading into the final period.

Clark put the game away in the fourth quarter, scoring three times. Nikko Kelly provided the Saints' lone marker in the final minutes to close the scoring at 15–7.

Madura led all Emmanuel scorers with two goals and an assist for three points, while Kelly and Greenlaw each added two goals of their own. In goal, Colby Enos played all 60 minutes and made eight saves. The Saints were outshot 41–22 and out-gained on the ground ball battle 46–24, battles that ultimately proved decisive.
