CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Emmanuel women's soccer turned in a complete performance Saturday afternoon, downing the Elms College Blazers 3-0 at Leary Field to improve to 3-3-0 overall and a perfect 3-0-0 in conference action.
Emmanuel set the tone early, needing just three minutes to get on the board. Sophomore
Kayla Silveira buried the opening tally to give the Saints a 1-0 lead. The offense kept rolling early in the match, as senior
Paige Letourneau doubled the advantage in the 13th minute, finishing off a feed from junior
Audrey Toce to make it 2-0.
The Saints dominated the shot chart in the first half, firing eight attempts to Elms' two, and carried that momentum through the rest of the match. Saints junior goalie
Teigan Robie was steady between the pipes, turning away all five shots on goal she faced to preserve the shutout, her third win of the season.
Robie added a signature moment of her own late in the second half, converting a penalty kick in the 83rd minute to cap the scoring at 3-0.
The Saints have won three in a row, all in conference play, while outscoring opponents 18-0 during the winning streak. Emmanuel will look for its fourth straight win on Wednesday, Sept. 23, as they head to the University of Saint Joseph for a 6:00 p.m. match.
