AS A SOPHOMORE ... Cockerill saw action in 19 matches, including appearances in 44 sets ... Tallied 71 kills in 168 swings with 36 errors for a .208 hitting percentage ... Recorded 14 aces for an average of 0.32 servce aces per set ... Sent back 12 total blocks and notched 26 digs in 2013 ... Helped the team to a second place finish in the conference and an appearance in the GNAC Finals.
AS A FRESHMAN ... Cockerill played in all 29 matches and a total of 90 sets during his rookie campaign, averaging 1.41 kills per set to rank fourth on the squad ... Posted a season-high 10 kills against Johnson & Wales University on Feb. 4. ... Registered a total of 31 blocks while recording 36 digs, four assists and four aces.
BEFORE EMMANUEL ... Cockerill was two-sport athlete at Darien High School (Darien, Conn.) ... Played four years of varsity volleyball and three years of varsity track & field ... Was a three-year starter and two-time team volleyball captain ... Two-time 1st Team All-Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) ... Voted two-time All-State ... FCIAC high jump champion ... Played club volleyball with the Connecticut Juniors, as well as the Mizuno East ... Led his high school team to the FCIAC Championship and to the Connecticut State Championship.
