SPELLMAN, WILLIAMS-HINTON POWER SAINTS TO 6th-STRAIGHT WIN

Boston, MA - The Emmanuel Men's Basketball Team surged to the program's 6th-straight win on Saturday with a 78-56 victory over visiting Mount Ida College. The Saints were led by juniors Rob Williams-Hinton (Oak Park, MI) and Mack Spellman (Clinton, NY), who combined for 48 points and 16 rebounds. Williams-Hinton notched a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards, while dishing out 3 assists and collecting 3 steals. Spellman knocked down 8 of 15 attempts from the floor and 7 of 8 from the free throw line, en route to his 23 total points.

Emmanuel (6-4, 5-0 GNAC) jumped out to an early lead and took a 35-28 advantage into halftime. The Saints, who led wire-wire, out-rebounded the Mustangs, 49-37. Emmanuel's defense picked up 29 fouls, but the Mustangs shot just 55.9% from the line (19-34). The Saints played smart with the basketball, turning it over just 10 times for the game. Junior forward Andres Bustamante (Amherst, MA) played a solid game for the Saints, recording a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while also dishing out a game-high 5 assists and blocking 2 shots in just 21 minutes of play.

Mount Ida (5-6, 2-2 GNAC) had three players scoring in double figures. The Mustangs were led by Thomas Belton's (Springfield, MA) 14 points and 6 rebounds. Junior forward Matt Bennett (Rochester, NH) made good on 6 of 7 field goal attempts and added 12 points, while sophomore guard Darren Martinez (Stoughton, MA) chipped in with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Saints will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon (1/15), when they travel to Northfield, VT to take on the Cadets of Norwich University in a 7pm start.
