Jan. 26, 2009

Emmanuel's Iman Davis (Toms River, N.J.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Player of the Week for the week ending January 24th. She received the honor after leading the Saints to a 3-0 week, averaging 19.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. The junior captain dropped 39 points in an 89-82 defeat of St. Joseph's College just missing Emmanuel's single-game scoring record by 3 points. The single-game mark of 42 points was set by current Emmanuel College Assistant Coach Shawanda Brown and has stood for the past 14 years. During last weeks' games, Davis shot 19-38 (50%) from the field, 2-3 (66.7%) from three-point range, and 19-28 (67.8%) from the free throw line. This is the 2nd time Davis has received GNAC Player of the Week honors this season and the 8th time in her three-year career.
