WESTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College Men's Soccer Team tied the College's program-record for wins in a season on Saturday afternoon, downing Regis College, 2-0. This was the Saints' eighth win of the season, tying the program-record set by the 2006 Emmanuel men's squad. With the non-conference win, the Saints improve to 8-3-4 overall, notching their 9th shutout of the season. Regis drops to 6-8 on the year.

The first period opened with both teams jockeying for ball possession in their respective ends. Saints forward James Carroll (Guilford, Conn.) broke away for two shots on goal that were stifled by Pride goalkeeper Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.), who finished the half with four saves. The Saints continued to put pressure on the Pride's defense and found a seam late in the first period when Carroll cranked a well placed shot past LaMacchia to make the score 1-0 heading into the half. This was Carroll's 5th goal of the year.

The second goal of the day came late in the second period when Emmanuel's sophomore forward Allan Parrelli (Reading, Mass.) converted a quick shot off a breakaway to put the Saints up 2-0. Emmanuel controlled the offense throughout, owning a 22-6 shots advantage over the hosts.

LaMacchia finished the game with eight saves for the Pride. Emmanuel's senior keeper Patrick Froass (Oneida, N.Y.) picked up the win for the Saints, playing the opening 45 minutes in goal and making a stop on the one Pride shot on goal. Freshman goalie Garrett Charette (West Springfield, Mass.) relieved Froass between the pipes for the second half of play.

Regis returns to action on Thursday when they take on NECC conference foe Newbury College at 3:00 p.m. The Saint next matchup is Monday when they travel to Nashua N.H. to take on the Raiders from Rivier College at 3:00 p.m.
