Box Score NEWTON, Mass. – Emmanuel men's soccer extended their unbeaten streak to three matches, opening the month of October with a 1-1 draw at Lasell in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday afternoon on Taylor Field.
The Saints move to 4-4-2 (3-2-2 GNAC) with the tie and are 1-0-2 in their last three matches as they sit in fifth place in the GNAC table following the match. The Lasers are now 1-6-2 (1-3-2 GNAC), taking points in GNAC play for just the third time this season.
The Lasers jumped out in front late in the first half after drawing a penalty kick in the 42

Mpumelelo Maphumulo stepped to the penalty spot and fired a shot into the bottom left corner away from the dive of Saints junior goalie
Maddox Pierce, giving Lasell a 1-0 lead, heading into halftime.
Emmanuel tied things 1-1 early in the second with the Aussie first-year connection of
Benjamin Anderson and
Aaron Picker combining in the 59
th minute. Anderson netted his first career collegiate goal thanks to an assist from Picker that squared that match.
The Saints created a significant amount of opportunities, finishing with a 13-3 advantage on corner kicks. Despite that, the Lasers posted more shots on target, finishing with nine compared to the Saints six.

Antonio Centracchio made five saves on the afternoon.
The Saints return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, for Family Weekend at Emmanuel, as they host Elms at 3:00 p.m. in GNAC play. The Lasers head out of the conference for a Thursday, Oct. 3 match with Gordon at 4:00 p.m.
