Dullaghan Continues Scoring Run as Saints Roll Past Monks, 6-1

BOSTON - The Emmanuel College women's soccer team tallied three goals in each half, cruising to a 6-1 victory over St. Joseph's College (Maine) on Tuesday evening at Clemente Field in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. The win marked the Saints' 10th conference victory of the season, improving to 13-2-1 overall and 10-2-1 in the GNAC. The Monks dropped to 4-11-1 overall and 4-8-1 in conference play.

Junior standout Sarah Dullaghan once again led the offense for the Saints with a remarkable five-goal performance, her second five-plus goal match in just a week. Her season tally now sits at 31 goals, holding her position as the top scorer in all of Division III. It was just the fifth time in over 25 years that a Saint has scored five or more goals in a single match.

Dullaghan began her scoring in the 10th minute off of a feed from Liz McCormick. Eight minutes later, she found the back of the net again after Alexandra Gencarelli charged up the field from the back line and curled a beautiful ball in from the right side to find Dullaghan and double the Saints' lead. She added a third in the 29th minute as the home side took a controlling 3-0 advantage into the break.

Following an Emmanuel handball in the final third, the Monks saw an opportunity to cut into the Saints lead. Bridget Davis fired a long-range strike off of the free-kick, beating goalkeeper Teigan Robie to bring the score to 3-1 with 47:51 on the clock.

Dullaghan stepped up again less than 10 minutes later with another goal and buried her fifth in the 81st minute. First-year Reese Cromwell added a sixth for the Saints with just over three minutes to play as Emmanuel rolled to a 6-1 home victory.

Liz McCormick finished the matchup with three assists while Hailey Goodman added two in the victory. Teigan Robie finished with one save to earn the win in goal for the Saints. Ashlyn Guerette posted 12 saves in the loss for the Monks.

Up next, the Monks return to Standish for a Saturday (10/26) GNAC clash with Johnson & Wales at 3 PM. Emmanuel will stay in the Heart of Boston, facing a visit from GNAC foe Albertus Magnus on Saturday at noon. Prior to the match, the Saints will honor two members of the Class of 2025 as part of their Senior Day celebration.
