In the opening match, the Saints and Bulldogs traded points through the first half of the opening set to a 13-12 Emmanuel lead. The home side made its first charge of the morning, claiming seven of the next eight points to lead 20-13. Dean pulled to within four points late in the set, but a Saints combo block by junior
Isabella Marquez and first-year

In the third, neither side led by more than three points, in another frame that required extra points. The Saints held a 23-20 lead before the Bulldogs battled back to a 24-24 set. Sherman would set up set point for the Saints while Marquez clinched the third with a kill and 26-24 win.

Marquez had three service aces in the 10-0 spurt as Emmanuel claimed a 25-14 set win.
In the second set, another close frame at the midpoint broke Emmanuel's way as the Saints won seven of eight points to take control at 19-13. The team's traded points before a service ace by first-year
Ava Olsen set up a set-point kill for first-year

The Saints needed a late run in the third set to earn the straight sets victory, as USJ held multiple leads late in the set, including a set point that could have brought the match to a fourth set. The Saints defended that set point, tying the match at 24-24. After a Blue Jays error gave the Saints a match point, the home team converted with an ace by Hong, wrapping up a 26-24 set.
