Women's Soccer Posts 12-Goal Performance in Shutout Win at Dean College

FRANKLIN, Mass. - Emmanuel women's soccer posted 12 goals en route to a 12-0 shutout at Dean College on Saturday afternoon. The Saints (7-3-3, 6-0-2 GNAC) held the Bulldogs to no shots allowed for the 90-minute match, while senior, Sarah Dulligan and junior, Paige Letourneau each scored a season-high goals in the Saints victory, netting 4 and 3 goals respectively. 

It took the Saints a few minutes to get going, with Dean's keeper making five saves in the first 10 minutes of action. Senior captain Eva Simmons got the scoring started for Emmanuel, notching her first goal of the season, on an assist by Loliana Morales early in the 13th minute of the contest. From there the Emmanuel attack peppered the Bulldogs with shots until Dulligan found the back of the net for the first time of the day on a cross from Abby Chambers at the 20:48 mark. The Saints then scored two more goals in the next ten minutes, Letourneau notched her first of the day at 28 minutes and Dulligan scored her second on an assist by Letourneau in the 31st minute. Dean was able to hold off the Saints attack for the rest of the period, with Emmanuel holding a 4-0 lead heading into the half. 

Dulligan put one past the keeper again just four minutes into the second half, making it 5-0, and would score her fourth goal of the day just 30 seconds later on a pass from Liz McCormick. Letourneau scored unassisted late in the 52nd minute, McCormick scored her third goal of the season at 57:31, and then Letourneau scored again on a cross from Dulligan in the 59th minute to make the score 9-0. The Saints offense was stalled until the 80:00 mark, when Grace Foster found Tennant for the 10th score of the day and then Foster netted her own goal nearly two minutes later. Cameryn Hickey scored the 12th and final goal of the contest with one minute remaining on an assist from Maya Daryanani

18 Saints players saw action in the victory. For the Bulldogs (2-9-1, 1-6-1 GNAC), keeper Lexi Gerow made 17 saves in the loss. 

Next up, Emmanuel hosts neighboring GNAC foe Simmons University on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00p.m. at Roberto Clemente Field.
