NEW LONDON, N.H. - Emmanuel College Women's Volleyball continued its dominant 2025 season in a straight-set sweep of Colby-Sawyer on Saturday afternoon (25-23, 25-12, 25-13). The Saints improve to 22-11, 8-0 GNAC and Colby-Sawyer drops to 7-11, 3-3 GNAC.
The Emmanuel College Saints battled back from an early deficit to claim the opening set 25-23 in a hard-fought contest against Colby-Sawyer College. After falling behind 2-0 to start the match, Emmanuel gradually found their rhythm. The Saints mounted an impressive rally midway through the set, with Frances Ramos Rodriguez delivering a crucial serving run that included two service aces and helped Emmanuel erase a 14-9 deficit. During that stretch, Isabella Marquez came alive offensively with three consecutive kills, all assisted by setter Kason Huynh, giving the Saints a 16-14 advantage.
The set remained tight down the stretch, with neither team able to pull away. Colby-Sawyer's Kamryn Brakemeier and Addison Sasnett led the Chargers' attack, with Bree Bacon orchestrating the offense from the setter position. Emmanuel's blocking duo of Letitia Bossou and Frances Ramos Rodriguez made a crucial stop late in the set. With the score knotted at 23-23, Emmanuel closed out the set on a 2-0 run. Julia Haight served the final two points as Colby-Sawyer committed consecutive errors, including a blocked attack by Brakemeier and a setting miscue to end the frame.
The momentum from the first set's win carried the Saints to a dominant performance in the following two sets. Emmanuel went on a 6-0 run to start the second set and closed it out on a 12-1 run. Colby-Sawyer scored the first three points of the third set and the two teams traded points for a short time before the Saints closed the match on an 11-3 run for the win.
Isabella Marquez was solid in the attacking role, posting an impressive 10 kills, .333 hitting and Letitia Bossou added 8 kills, 3 blocks, bringing a strong presence at the net. Julia Haight had an impressive day bothserving and in the back-row work with 7 aces, 12 digs and Kason Huynh was the primary distributor keeping the offense flowing with 22 assists.
The Saints have now won 17 straight and return home to host Regis College on Friday, October 24 at 6:00 p.m. on Senior Night in the Jean Yawkey Center.
