Four Women's Volleyball Saints Earn Selection to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – For the first time since 2022, Emmanuel women's volleyball placed four student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Women's Volleyball Academic All-District® Team, as announced by the CSC on Dec. 16. Saints senior Isabella Marquez, Junior Kason Huynh, and sophomores Letitia Bossou and Madison Sherman all earned the honors following Tuesday's announcement.

For the second consecutive year, the women's volleyball Academic All-District team required student-athletes to compete in 90 percent of a team's matches or start at least 66 percent of contests throughout the year to be eligible for the CSC Academic squad.

Other familiar criteria remained in place as nominees must still be a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Graduate students are judged based on their final undergraduate cumulative GPA for nomination until a new graduate program GPA has been established.

Marquez and Huynh both earned selections to the CSC Academic All-District Team for a second straight year, while Bossou and Sherman are both first-time honorees.

Arguably saving the best for her senior season, Marquez was the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2025, after ranking second in the conference with 3.37 kills per set and third in total kills with 283. Marquez became the first GNAC Offensive Player of the Year for the program since 2006.

Huynh continued her ascension as one of the conference's best players after being named the GNAC Setter of the Year. Claiming her second major award from the GNAC in her career, Huynh is Emmanuel's first-ever Setter of the Year, while becoming only the fifth player in conference history to win two separate major awards from the conference in women's volleyball.

Bossou, a GNAC First Team selection in 2025, enjoyed a breakout season in her second year. The sophomore right side hitter ranked third in the conference with 3.02 kills per set, while leading the Saints in total kills with 296. Her attack percentage of .273 ranked fifth in the GNAC and was best among non-middles in the conference.

Like her fellow CSC Academic All-District Team members, Sherman was voted to the GNAC All-Conference Teams, picking up a Third Team selection following the season. The sophomore middle was the conference's top blocker, leading the GNAC with 1.00 blocks per set. She became one of eight Saints to average at least 1.00 blocks per set in a season since 1994.

Unlike in past years, the nomination to the Academic All-District team does not necessarily move a student-athlete into consideration for the Academic All-American® ballot. A committee, comprised of Academic All-American® Core Members and members from the CSC will determine which athletes move to the All-American ballot.

Once the ballot is released, CSC members have until Dec. 23 to vote for Academic All-Americans®. The CSC will announce the Academic All-American® First, Second, and Third Teams on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
