BOSTON – The Emmanuel women's lacrosse team dropped its first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game of the season on Wednesday night, falling to Saint Joseph's College of Maine by a score of 16-8 at Roberto Clemente Field. The win lifts the Monks to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in GNAC North Division play, while the Saints now sit at 7-6 and 3-1 in the divisional action.
After the first three possessions ended in turnovers, Saint Joseph's struck first at 13:11 on a goal from senior
Mackenzie Siebert. Emmanuel answered with a tally from junior
Ella Marschitz, but the Monks responded with two more to go up 3-1. Both teams added late goals, including one from Emmanuel junior
Avery Robillard with 16 seconds left, as the Saints entered the second trailing 4-3.
Just 33 seconds into the second quarter, senior
Dejaliyah Srimouksavanh leveled the game for Emmanuel at 4-4. Saint Joseph's regained control from there, scoring four of the next five goals, including two from sophomore
Taylor Dumond, to take an 8-5 lead into halftime.
Coming out of the halftime break, Saint Joseph's quickly extended their lead. The Monks forced a turnover and converted for a ninth goal before winning two consecutive draw controls and scoring on both possessions. After a fourth straight goal at 6:21, Saint Joseph's had built a 12-6 lead. Junior

Ella Stein each scored to cut the deficit, but Emmanuel still trailed 12-8 heading into the final quarter.
Looking to secure the GNAC North Division win, Saint Joseph's maintained control in the fourth quarter. The Monks added four goals while holding the Saints scoreless on just one shot to secure the 16-8 victory.
Saint Joseph's outshot Emmanuel 29-15, with the Monks holding a 20-12 advantage in shots on target. Dumond led the attack with five goals, while three other Monks added hat tricks. First-year
Ava Molineaux added seven draw controls, five ground balls, and five turnovers in the win. Senior
Morgan Wright was credited with the victory in goal, making four saves.
For the Saints, Srimouksavanh scored three goals, while Wright added two. Junior
