WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced earlier this week a new conference record for the GNAC Academic All-Conference team, as 1,663 student-athletes from the conference were named to the Academic All-Conference team, with Emmanuel placing 113 names on the list.
To qualify for the GNAC Academic All-Conference squad, a student-athlete must be a sophomore in academic standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. This year marks the eighth consecutive year the GNAC has had at least 1,000 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Conference Team.
Emmanuel was one of nine GNAC institutions with at least 100 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Conference squad. Lasell led the way with 145 student-athletes across their 15 Division III athletic programs.
Women's track and field led all Emmanuel programs, placing 17 members on the Academic All-Conference team. Saints men's soccer, women's lacrosse, and women's soccer tied for second-most among Emmanuel teams, each posting 14 student-athletes on the academic squad.
