BOSTON – Emmanuel women's lacrosse boosted their win streak to five games, claiming a 16-6 victory over the Regis Pride on Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play from Clemente Field. The Saints are now sitting at 9-4 (7-1 GNAC), while the Pride fall to 2-8 (2-7 GNAC) in the loss.
After a slow start and Emmanuel leading 2-1 through a quarter, the Saints offense found its footing, outscoring the Pride 6-0 in the second. Sophomore
Emilia Ferraro and first-year
Daphne Blake each scored a pair for the Saints in the second quarter, while seniors
Avery Robillard and
Madeline Wright added a tally apiece, helping Emmanuel to an 8-1 lead at the half.
The third quarter played out just like the first as a 2-1 frame kept the Saints comfortably in front with a 10-3 advantage and 15 minutes to play. With the game in hand, the home side added another six goals to their total, while surrendering four to the Pride, on the way to a 16-6 Saints victory.
Wright finished with a game-high four goals to go along with four ground balls and five draw controls. She has now recorded at least a hat trick in 10 of the Saints 13 games this season. Blake netted her second career hat trick, finishing with three goals, including 2-for-2 in free position chances. Ferraro added three goals and one assist for a four-point night.
The Saints will look to move their winning streak to a half-dozen on Saturday, April 11, as they travel to Dean College for a noon faceoff with the Bulldogs.
