GREENWOOD, Ind. – For a third straight season, six members of the Emmanuel women's lacrosse program have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Women's At-Large Academic All-District® Team, as announced by the CSC on Tuesday afternoon.
Class of 2026 graduates
Alexandra Gencarelli, Halle Miller, Reese Pavao, and
Madeline Wright, along with rising senior
Hannah Hoenshell and rising junior
Emilia Ferraro were the six named to the Academic Team by the CSC.
Nomination to the CSC Academic All-District® Team requires a combination of academic and athletic achievements to be selected. Academically, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Athletically, those selected must start in 66 percent of their team's games or participate in 90 percent of a team's contests.
Women's At-Large selections are comprised of student-athletes from 12 eligible sports, according to the CSC. Emmanuel women's lacrosse is the only sport in the list of eligible sports that can be considered for an At-Large selection. Institutions are limited to six selections to the Women's At-Large Academic All-District® Team from those dozen sports.
Gencarelli makes her first appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® Team after playing in 16 games, including 15 starts. Her senior season ended with 12 caused turnovers and 10 draw controls.
Miller finds a spot on the CSC Academic All-District® Team for a third consecutive season after making the team the previous two seasons. A Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team selection on defense, Miller started all 20 games this season and was second on the team in ground balls with 49 and caused turnovers with 24.
Pavao wraps up the selections on defense for the Saints on the CSC Academic All-District® Team, making her second appearance on this team. She started all 20 games as a senior and finished her last season with 13 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.
Wright, a two-time selection to the CSC Academic All-District® Team is one of Emmanuel's best players in team history. Voted the GNAC Midfielder of the Year in every season since her sophomore year, Wright became one of 17 players in NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse history to score 300 career goals after finishing her four seasons with 304 tallies.
Hoenshell makes her first appearance on a CSC Academic All-District® Team after starting in all 20 games for Emmanuel. In her first season as a full-time starter, Hoenshell scored 10 goals to go with four assists for 14 points in her junior season.
Ferraro rounds out the group of CSC Academic All-District® Team selections, thanks in part to her breakout campaign in 2025. Ferraro appeared in 18 games for the Saints, making 17 starts, while being one of three players to reach 40 points this season. In her 18 games, the rising junior scored 32 goals to go with eight assists, while also collecting eight ground balls.
Unlike in past years, the nomination to the Academic All-District® team does not necessarily move a student-athlete into consideration for the Academic All-American® ballot. A committee, comprised of Academic All-American® Core Members and members from the CSC will determine which athletes move to the All-American ballot.
Once the ballot is released, CSC members have until June 23 to vote for Academic All-Americans®. The CSC will announce the Academic All-American® Teams on Tuesday, July 7.
