Women’s Soccer Trounces Mitchell in Home Opener, 11-0

BOSTON, Mass. - Women's soccer erupted for 11 goals Saturday afternoon, cruising past Mitchell College, 11-0, at Roberto Clemente Field in the Saints' Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener.

Emmanuel (1-3, 1-0 GNAC) wasted little time setting the tone, finding the back of the net just one minute into the contest. Grace Foster opened the scoring off an assist from Paige Letourneau, giving the Saints an early 1-0 advantage.

The Saints continued to apply pressure throughout the opening half, adding five more goals before halftime. Carla Andreu Panighi doubled the lead in the 11th minute before Letourneau struck twice in a span of just 89 seconds, pushing the Emmanuel advantage to 4-0, with the home team eventually going into the half up 6-0.

The offensive barrage continued after halftime as Kayla Silveira opened the second-half scoring in the 53rd minute. Abby Chambers followed just 93 seconds later, converting off a Letourneau assist to make it 8-0.

Cameryn Hickey added Emmanuel's ninth goal in the 63rd minute, assisted by Kylie Warner, before Emmabelle Briones scored less than two minutes later off an Andreu Panighi assist. Meghan Brazeau capped the scoring in the 77th minute to complete the 11-0 victory.

Letourneau led the Saints offensively with two goals and two assists, while Foster, Andreu Panighi, Hickey, Silveira, Chambers, Briones, Goulding, Toce and Brazeau each found the back of the net.

Emmanuel dominated the statistical sheet from start to finish, outshooting Mitchell, 56-0, including a 34-0 advantage in shots on target.

The defensive effort was equally impressive, as goalkeeper Teigan Robie and the Emmanuel defense kept Mitchell off the scoreboard for the entire 90 minutes. Robie finished with a clean sheet after facing no shots on the afternoon.

The victory marks Emmanuel's first win of the 2026 season and gives the Saints a 1-0 start in GNAC play.

Emmanuel returns to action on Wednesday when the Saints travel to take on their cross-street rival Simmons. The rivalry showdown will begin at 7:00 PM at Daly Field.
