BOSTON - Emmanuel men's soccer and Saint Joseph's College of Maine played to a 0-0 draw at Roberto Clemente Field on Tuesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play, with both goalkeepers standing tall in a match that saw 26 combined shots but no goals to show for it.

Jacob Beck stepped up to take a penalty kick, but Monks goalkeeper
Alex Bachmann guessed right and turned it away to keep the match scoreless. Beck's attempt was struck well and toward the side netting, but Bachmann on a full-stretch save to his left, made the stop to keep the match scoreless. It was one of six saves on the night for Bachmann, who was tested repeatedly down the stretch as Emmanuel pushed for a late winner.

David Derk was equally sharp at the other end for the Saints, finishing with five saves of his own, including stops on shots by
Aidan Sugrue,
Mattheus Silva, and
Damir Brkic in the second half that kept Saint Joseph's College off the board.
Both sides had late looks to break the deadlock in the final 15 minutes, but Derk and Bachmann were outstanding for their respective sides, preserving Tuesday's tie.
The Saints return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19, traveling to Regis for a noon match in conference play.
