CHICOPEE, Mass. - Women's Volleyball (6-2) is starting to find their stride in the 2026 campaign, winning their third and fourth straight in dominant fashion on Saturday afternoon. In a tri-match hosted by Elms College, the Saints swept both Elms and MCLA, to move their win streak to four games, and cap off a 3-0 week.
Game one: Emmanuel 3 Elms 0
In the first match of the day, the Saints battled through a back-and-forth opening set before pulling away late. With the score tied at 23-23, Kason Huynh followed with a kill to give the Saints a 24-23 advantage. After Elms tied the set at 25-25, Letitia Bossou delivered back-to-back kills to secure the 27-25 victory.
Emmanuel carried that momentum into the second set, using an 6-0 run midway through the frame to turn a 5-5 tie into a 11-5 lead. The Saints continued to control the set behind strong serving and defense, eventually taking it, 25-16.
The Saints again jumped out to an early advantage in the third, building a 12-4 lead. Elms trimmed the deficit late, but Emmanuel maintained control and closed out the sweep, 25-19.
Bossou led the Saints offensively with nine kills while Ayla Evans added six kills and seven digs. Delilah Davis contributed four kills and a match-high three blocks, while Huynh recorded 18 assists. Margaret Adolphe added three service aces, and Ava Olsen paced the defense with nine digs.
As a team, Emmanuel finished with 30 kills, 12 aces and five blocks while holding Elms to just 18 kills and a .013 hitting percentage. The Saints now sit at 2-0 in GNAC play.
Game Two: Emmanuel 3 MCLA 0
In the final match of the day, Emmanuel controlled the opening set from the outset, using a 5-0 run early in the frame to build a 7-2 advantage. Emmanuel continued to extend its lead throughout the set, eventually closing it out, 25-15, with Delilah Davis recording the final kill.
The second set proved to be more of the same. With the second set knotted up at five, a Saints 5-0 sprint gave them a 10-5 advantage. Emmanuel kept MCLA at bay the rest of the set, with the biggest lead coming at the end. A ball handling error by the Trail Blazers allowed the Saints to clinch a dominant second set with a final score of 24-13.
Emmanuel found itself in a competitive third set, trailing 12-10 before taking control. The Saints scored nine of the next 10 points to open up a 19-13 lead and never looked back, closing out the sweep with a 25-14 victory.
Brianna Quinlan led the Saints with eight kills while Letitia Bossou added six kills on a .313 hitting percentage. Evans contributed three kills and a match-high five service aces, while Ava Olsen posted 12 digs and two aces. Kason Huynh finished with 12 assists, and the Saints combined for 26 kills and nine service aces while holding MCLA to a .029 hitting percentage.
The Saints return to the court for some more Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday, this time from the Jean Yawkey Center. Emmanuel welcomes in the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer for the home opener, with a first serve at 7:00 PM.
