LEWISTON, Maine — Emmanuel women's soccer fell in non-conference play at Russell Street Track and Field on Tuesday, falling 8-0 to the Bates Bobcats.
Bates was on the board midway through the first half, breaking through in the 25th minute when Whitney Ladich buried a feed from Gwyn Jamison.
Clara Oldenburg doubled the lead just minutes later, and Jamison added an unassisted strike of her own in the 33nd minute to push the score to 3-0 by halftime. Jamison was the catalyst for much of Bates' attack, finishing with four assists on the night to go along with a goal.
The second half brought more of the same, as Bates poured in five additional goals, including the second of the night for Ladich to cap the scoring in the 67th minute.
Saints sophomore Grace Foster led the Saints' offensive effort, firing off four shots, including two shots on goal.
The Saints head into Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday, Sept. 12, hosting Mitchell for the team's home opener at 3:00 p.m. on Clemente Field.
