THE LEAD – Returning after a month away, the Saints men's and women's indoor track and field teams took to Brandeis University and the Gosman Athletic Center for Saturday's Reggie Poyau Memorial Invite.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Saints first-year Pierre Paul Labossierre (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) took the lone first-place finish for either program on Saturday, claiming victory in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.85 meters; a new personal best.
- First-year Luke Wiley added a third-place finish on the day in the triple jump, thanks to a distance of 12.90 meters.
- First-year Adam Von Maszewski (Westborough, Mass.) claimed a top-10 finish in the 60-meter hurdles with his new PR of 9.72 seconds.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Alyssa French-Graham (Waterbury, Conn.) placed second in the shotput on Saturday, missing out on first place by under two inches, as her throw of 10.10 meters had her just off the top of the podium. French-Graham added a seventh-place finish in the weight throw.
- First-year Paula Salazar (Cumberland, R.I.) and junior Beverly Browne (Amesbury, Mass.) finished sixth and seventh, respectively in the pole vault. Salazar cleared the bar at 2.45 meters while Browne's height of 2.30 meters was good for seventh.
- Sophomore Cynthia Brito (Whitman, Mass.) finished in eighth place in the triple jump following a distance of 9.48 meters.
UP NEXT
- The Saints program's return to the track and field next Saturday, Jan. 21, with another local trip, this time to Tufts University, for the Branwen Smith-King Invitational, with events starting at 9:00 a.m.
