WEYMOUTH, Mass. – Saints junior
Isabella Marquez and sophomore
Kason Huynh were both voted to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Teams, as announced by the GNAC Office on Wednesday, and as voted on by the GNAC head coaches.
Marquez earned a spot on the GNAC First Team while Huynh followed by her impressive rookie campaign in 2023 with a Second Team selection this season. Senior
Paula Tanguilig was selected to represent the Saints on the All-Conference Sportsmanship squad.
Marquez becomes the first Saints women's volleyball player voted to the GNAC First Team since 2013, when Cassie Chruscielski '17 earned both the GNAC Rookie of the Year honors and a spot on the All-Conference First Team.
The junior outside hitter finished the season with 399 kills, averaging 4.16 kills per set, both leading the GNAC. She was the conference's only player to average more than four kills per set while her 399 kills are the second-most in a single season in team history since records became official starting in the 1994 season. Marquez's 4.16 kills per set is 19
th-best in NCAA Division III while her 4.68 points accounted for per set ranks 24
th in the nation.
Huynh ascended to one of the conference's top setters this season, leading the GNAC in total assists and assists per set with 838 and 8.38, respectively. In addition to her setting, Huynh also ranked inside the top-20 in digs and digs per set in the conference this season. The second-year setter finished the season with 10 double-doubles.
