Driscoll Makes Deep Run for Men's Wrestling in Ted Reese Invitational

GORHAM, Maine - After two weeks off, Emmanuel men's wrestling returned to the mat on Saturday, competing in the 30th annual Ted Reese Invitational, hosted by the University of Southern Maine.

First-year Luke Driscoll made the deepest run of the day for the Saints, making it to the semifinals of the winners' bracket in the 184-pound bracket. A fall at 1:32 in the round of 16, followed by a 4-3 decision in the quarterfinals, led Driscoll to the last four wrestlers on Saturday. 

First-year Jhay Napoleon scored a pair of victories in the 174-pound tournament, advancing to the quarterfinals on the day. Napoleon's victories came via a 16-1 technical fall in the first round, followed by a pinfall at 6:15 in the round of 16.

Emmanuel takes another two-week break before heading to Revo, Nev. for the Tournament of Champions event on Sunday, Dec. 21.
