WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Emmanuel men's wrestling returned to action on Saturday, starting their 2026 schedule with a trip across the state to Williams College for the Williams College Open, at Lasell Gymnasium.
The top performance of the day belonged to first-years
Zachary Brzoska and
Seth McGrew, who both placed fifth on the day. Brzoska scored his finish in the 133 weight class, while McGrew wrestled at 149.
Brzoska worked his way through the consolation bracket on the way to his finish. After an opening round loss dropped the rookie to the consolation bracket, Brzoska scored a 17-1 win, followed by a 14-5 major decision.
McGrew opened his day with victories in the rounds of 32 and 16 in the 149 weight class, before falling to the consolation bracket after a loss in the quarterfinals. After a win in the consolation bracket, McGrew used the advantage time point at the end of the bout to earn a 6-5 win, clinching fifth place.
The Saints are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 7, hosting Rhode Island College in a dual on Yosinoff Court at 6:00 p.m.
