WINTHROP, Mass. – Women's basketball first-year Nylah Mitchell continued the impressive start to her career, and was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday afternoon.
Mitchell delivered an impressive two-game stretch off the bench for the Saints, averaging 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals while shooting a combined 57.7% from the field.
She opened the week with a strong all-around performance in a win over MIT, posting 14 points, three rebounds, three steals, and two blocks while going 5-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-5 at the line. Mitchell followed it with a breakout effort, pouring in a career-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting and adding seven rebounds, five steals, in 30 minutes against Southern Maine.
Emmanuel is out to a 3-2 start this season and returns after the Thanksgiving Break with a Tuesday, Dec. 2 home game against Salve Regina at 7:00 p.m.
