ROXBURY, Mass. - Emmanuel's indoor track and field team started the 2025-26 season with a short trip to the Reggie Lewis Center, participating in the Suffolk Relays on Saturday.
A number of program records fell on Saturday at the event, including junior
Ava Fisher setting the record in the shot put with a throw of 10.71 meters (35' 1.75"), good for second place in the event overall. Next, a pair of 300-meter races resulted in broken program records on both the men's and women's sides. First-year
Eli Roy ran the event in 38.81 seconds, while fellow first-year
Alisha Gomes finished in a time of 44.81, both good for new program records.
The final records to fall on Saturday were also on the track, with the men's and women's sprint medley relay records both being broken. The men's group finished in a time of 3:54.97, placing eighth in the event. For the women's group, their time of 4:39.63 was good for fourth place and a new program record.
Saints sophomore
Aida Davis produced the only individual win on the day, coming in first place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:31.44.
The Saints return to the track tomorrow morning, taking part in the UMass Boston Beacons Season Opener at the TRACK at New Balance.
